On this last day of March (wow, what a month!), I thought I would share a few photos of what’s going on at the studio. Might be a feature for the last day of every month from now on… a photographic state of the state!

New Shelves (so pumped about these!) Thanks, Pf.

Some ideas for table numbers for the upcoming summer wedding… I originally created these with black ink & gouache (see here). I converted the black outlines to white for a cleaner, beach inspired look.

Took a trip to Mason Brothers’ Architectural Salvage Warehouse this past weekend. You should definitely check it out if you are ever in Essex Junction, VT. It is a treasure trove of antique doors, old hardware, furniture, lighting, and a million other odds & ends salvaged from old homes & businesses. I could have spent all day there. They have a small book section when you walk in… scored this gem in the SH/Co. palette. It tells the story of a group of junior high boys exploring the Connecticut River. According to the book, “Becket Adventures, each summer, sponsors a traveling school with the mission of canoeing from the Canadian Border to Long Island Sound. During the 400 mile long journey it was the job of the twenty-eight boys to compile a report on the condition of the river in the year 1970. This is their report.” Sounds like an adventure. If only girls were allowed!* Found here *Sounds like the girls had their own adventures… the record for July 17 tells of running into a group of girl scouts at a campsite in Twin Mountain, NH. The boys had two tasks that evening: “One is to make contact with the girl scouts; the other to try to buy out the Dairy Queen.” Tough life! Photos by AB

Super excited that my custom SH/Co. stamps arrived in the mail! I plan on using these on a ton of things… packaging, envelopes, hang tags, shipping boxes, etc. I love the imperfections and flexibility that stamps allow. Now taking orders for your own custom stamp! What a great addition to a stationery set…

Just came across this old rubber stamp set I bought years ago. I believe it’s from the 1950s. I love that it comes with its own ruler! You really can’t beat hand stamped typography. I recently designed some custom Scout’s Honor Co. stamps that I will be sharing soon…

Some more behind the scenes from the seaside wedding I am working on… I created these sailing flags with ink & gouache. Working on incorporating them into the invitation & other paper goods now. Stay tuned!

Love the name of this book published in 1911. Part of a larger “Girl Aviators Adventures” series.

New muslin bags arrived in the mail (future packaging idea) so I pulled together some things in the studio that fit the natural palette.

Been drawing a lot of flags lately… mostly sailing flags. I love their simple patterns & bright colors. All of that drawing got me to thinking about using unexpected materials to change things up a bit. No paper, no fabric, no flapping in the wind… but instead, wooden flags. The ones below are painted on 12” x 16” plywood. Not sure what I will use them for (if anything)… for now they are remaining unflappable in my studio.
