Back in Black

I L.O.V.E. color but sometimes you just can’t beat good old B + W.

Graduation season is upon us. I was psyched to design these invites & favors for Maddy’s high school grad party. Inspired by her school’s crest, I created a personalized take on the classic icon. The sunglasses have gotta be my fave part. Guests can cut out the shades and wear them around… a nod to Maddy and her love of wearing any & all glasses (I’ve got the pics to prove it). Congrats, Maddy!

Heading out on a road trip today to NYC for my sister’s graduation. Really psyched to spend a whole week there celebrating with family, exploring the city, and getting inspired. I usually come back from New York exploding with ideas (and a severe case of fashion envy). Here are some of the essentials I am packing…

1. spring bag

2. (rain) hat

3. fave jeans

4. sister’s gift (do not forget)

5. sketch + note-taking supplies

See you tomorrow!

My apologies for the super late post today… the last 24 hours have been a whirlwind of wedding stationery crazy-town! Been busy hand-addressing 125 outer & inner envelopes and preparing Melanie & James’ invites for shipment to Boston. (At press time, they are officially out the door, yo). Psyched for Melanie to receive the box at work tomorrow. She and James have quite the weekend ahead of them - it’s gonna be a stuffing & stamping extravaganza. Below is glimpse of the turquoise storm that just blew through here… It’s not Friday yet but it sure feels like it. I’m going out for a celebratory beer. See you tomorrow. Photos by AB

One of the products I am super excited to offer when my shop opens (coming soon!) is a custom home package. These are the ultimate gifts for new home owners, beloved family homes, or even better - yourself! The custom home package will include an illustration by Scout’s Honor Co., a boxed set of 25 cards & envelopes (size A2), and one 8” x 10” print. Below are some examples I have been working on… If you are interested before the shop opens, please feel free to contact me. Photos by AB

A couple of weeks ago, I posted a mystery meat package containing invites for an upcoming party. I am excited today to reveal its contents. My sister, Mary, is graduating from grad school next week. For the past 2 years, she has been working hard on her Masters, holding down a full-time job, and pretty much killing it. Congrats, Mary! She loves vintage NYC subway signs. For the party invite, I thought it would be cool to recreate one showing all of her educational ‘stops’ along the way. Her undergrad & grad schools are both in the city and have their own subway stops as well. It’s rare that I venture away from hand type but sometimes, you just gotta F*NT IT! Photos by AB

I have received a few inquiries about my “California Girls” print after debuting it on the Poppytalk home tour. I am excited to announce that this print is now for sale via email! (while I work on my online shop). The print is 5” x 7” and printed on thick, natural white card stock. It is $25.00 + tax and shipping (unframed). Please contact me if interested (payment via secure Paypal transaction).

The one above is going out to Breana in California today… I love that a true Cali girl will have this print! Thanks, Breana!

P.S. Stay tuned for more prints showing Beach Boys love to East Coast, Southern, Midwest, & Northern girls, too…

P.P.S. According to tumblr, this is my 100th post! Whoa!

It’s always good when you start your day with an email from the printer saying “job ready for pickup!” I love seeing the finished product. Below are party invites all packaged up & ready to go. Contents will be revealed once party honoree receives her invite in the mail! I know, the suspense is killing me, too.

Super excited that my custom SH/Co. stamps arrived in the mail! I plan on using these on a ton of things… packaging, envelopes, hang tags, shipping boxes, etc. I love the imperfections and flexibility that stamps allow. Now taking orders for your own custom stamp! What a great addition to a stationery set…

New muslin bags arrived in the mail (future packaging idea) so I pulled together some things in the studio that fit the natural palette.
