Happy first day of Fall (and more importantly, happy Friday)! I am excited to say that my first retail collection is slowly coming together… The card below is one of my faves and speaks to my not-so-subtle pennant obsession. It is both a single card + part of a larger set. More on all of that soon…! In the meantime, hope you have a wonderful weekend. And thanks for stopping by, it means a lot.

Loving this pennant I just snagged from Three Potato Four. Hoping to line up a visit to Philly when one of their monthly barn sales is going on… their collection of vintage finds is insane.

Happy Monday. Been working on a ton of new illustrations for the SH/Co. product line… You knew it was only a matter of time before my pennant obsession made its way onto the cards. Working on my first wholesale order now (!) and getting excited to sell online in the near future… (more on both of those soon).
Also, big thanks to The Collection Event Studio for the lovely feature on my watercolor work. Check out their blog for sure; it’s chock full of inspiration + cool shop visits. This one is my fave.

Scored this vintage Chicago pennant for Pf from ebay… was relieved that it was not a mini-me version like my sister’s grad gift. It’s technically for the University of Chicago but I love how it can represent the city as well. Super simple; it’s one of my faves.
P.S. Today’s post is all about Midwest love but what coast suits you best? Weigh in over at coco + kelley.

Back from NYC and pumped to be cranking the studio into high gear again. Was a really fun, rainy, and inspiring week away. Thought I would share the gift I gave my sister for her graduation. This was one of those classic ebay experiences. I ordered a couple of vintage pennants (circa 1936) representing Mary’s grad & undergrad schools. While pennant sizes do vary, they are usually pretty big. These two arrived and I thought they had escaped from Barbie’s dream house. I ended up framing them instead… Those are 4” x 6” frames if that gives you any ref! In the end, I think it was meant to be. I topped off the baby pennants with the Know It All Pencil Set from Paper Pastries. Love those pencils!

My old school pennant collection is slowly growing. Came upon these two in Waterbury, VT last weekend. Excited x 100 as they are in the SH/Co. color palette. Not to mention they are from my home state (NY) and Pf’s home state (IL). Double win. Photos by AB
Inspired by my collection of vintage pennants, I decided to create one for Scout’s Honor Co. I did not take on sewing just yet but glue seemed to do the trick. I would love to make a whole series of these one day. U.S. Navy epaulets found here Photos by AB
I have slowly started collecting vintage pennants. I would love to have a store one day where an entire wall (or window display) is filled with these. I especially like the ones that are handmade… the letters are always a little off. I am thinking of making one for SH/Co. Found this one near my hometown… Keuka Lake is one of the glorious Finger Lakes. What up, upstate! Label on back says “DeMar Mfg. Co. Inc. / Buffalo, NY U.S.A” Photos by AB
