Half the fun of visiting NYC is seeing all of the amazing retail shops in person. While I find tons of inspiration online, nothing beats walking into a curated environment and really experiencing a shop owner’s vision firsthand. That happened yesterday in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. I went lookin for hand type, found it, and then discovered even more inspiration inside. The latest shop on my “I wanna live there” list is Smith + Butler.
The space alone is unreal (another side effect of big city retail: wood and brick seem to be in endless supply). The brands are classic & well-made (Pendleton, Barbour, Woolrich, etc) and the merchandising is really fun (vintage motorcycles, old American flags). Hello, SH/Co. inspiration overload. Check it out if you find yourself in the area.
Have a great weekend!
