I’m excited to share these screen printed journals with you on Oh So Beautiful Paper today! They were created by the talented Rachel Stewart of Domesticated Desk. Rachel’s work was part of the recent Iskra Print Collective show at JDK in Burlington. I stopped by the show this summer and instantly fell in love with these books. Seeing the entire series all lined up in a row was quite powerful… I was seriously tempted to buy the whole set. Luckily, I didn’t so there’s still a few left for others to enjoy (posters, too!).
Rachel is also one half of the team responsible for this rad biz card that I posted on Instagram awhile back. I can’t wait to see what she is up to next. Check out the full OSBP post here.

It’s been one helluva scorcher this week. I don’t know about you, but I’m not meant for these temps (you don’t exactly move to Vermont for the warm weather). In defense of the heat wave, I’ve added two new summer cards to the shop. Both were originally hand-painted using gouache. Take these to the beach, crack open a cold one, and get caught up on your correspondence already. The waves card is blank inside so you can add your own sentiments. The thank you is perfect for summer weddings + showers or anytime you need to send some gratitude. The waves are also available in a 10” x 8” art print. Check them out here!

Have a great weekend, everyone! Stay as cooooool as you can. Time to jump in the lake.

Hello, June! To kick off summer, I have added a collection of nautical prints to the shop. All four prints are available in either 5” x 7” or 8” x 10.” I am really excited about these… they’re a nice way to add a bit of summer to your walls + hopefully start a season of adventures and new discoveries. Check them out here.

The prints work well on their own, in pairs, or even as a quartet. They don’t need much — just a simple black frame does the trick.
Happy summer!

I adore this new children’s book by artist Tom Slaughter. I recently picked one up for my niece (and yes - a copy for myself, how could I not??). The book is bright, happy, graphic, and of course - nautical. Different types of boats are revealed through clues + fold-out poster pages. Each poster is literally a work of art in itself. Below is a peek at the cover and a couple of the inside pages. Boat Works is available for purchase on amazon or find it at your local bookstore through Indie Bound.

Love this simple + powerful print by Sawhorse Design Co. Sawhorse is the collaboration between Toronto designers and illustrators Kellen Hatanaka and Jim Mezei. I like that they used newsprint for this piece — gives it a delicate nature which is a nice juxtaposition against the blade. Psyched to have this in my studio, along with the amazing WORK print by Jim.

Love seeing this Snow Tram print by The Butcher Press in my studio each day. Reminds me of all the good times on the mountain, especially during a winter like this when actual snow is a rarity. Run by the awesome Katy Yeaw, The Butcher Press creates limited edition screen prints in their San Diego studio. Some prints are up to 8 colors and for anyone that understands the process of screen printing, that’s what I call holy labor intensive. The results are beautiful. All prints are available in the shop. Katy recently branched out into fun kids’ tees as well.

I love the work of Toronto designer + illustrator Jim Mezei. His style, subject matter, and execution really resonates with me. When I saw this WORK lino + screen print on his blog, I had one of those visceral, I gotta have it moments. Psyched to say the print is now hanging in my studio. I have a feeling it’s one of those pieces that will be around forever, no matter where I hang my hat. Jim has a few more prints for sale right now, check them out here.

Letterpress print from the Shelburne Museum Printing Shop. After demonstrating his technique, the printer handed out free samples, including the one below (um, score). Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Vermont next summer (open May-October).
